Katy Perry born Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson; October 25, 1984 is an American singer-songwriter and actress. Born in Santa Barbara, California, and raised by Christian pastor parents, Perry grew up listening to only gospel music and sang in her local church as a child. After earning a GED during her first year of high school, she began to pursue a career in music. As Katy Hudson, she released a self-titled gospel album in 2001, which was unsuccessful. She later recorded an album with production team The Matrix and completed the majority of a solo album from 2004–5, neither of which were released.
After signing with Capitol Music Group in 2007, her fourth record label in seven years, she adopted the stage name Katy Perry and released her first Internet single "Ur So Gay" that November, which garnered public attention but failed to chart. She rose to fame with the release of her second single "I Kissed a Girl" in 2008, which went on to top international charts. Perry's first mainstream studio album One of the Boys followed later that year and subsequently, became the thirty third-best selling album worldwide of 2008. It was accredited platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America, while "I Kissed a Girl" and her second single "Hot n Cold" both received multi-platinum certifications. Her sophomore studio album Teenage Dream was released in August 2010 and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. The album included hit singles "California Gurls", "Teenage Dream", "Firework", "E.T." and "Last Friday Night T.G.I.F." , all of which topped the charts on the Billboard Hot 100, making the Teenage Dream album one of only nine albums to ever produce four or more Hot 100 number ones. With "E.T." at number one on the chart of May 12, 2011, Perry became the first artist in history to spend a whole year, 52 consecutive weeks, in the top 10 of Billboard Hot 100.
Perry was credited as a guest judge on the seventh series of British television show The X Factor; has released a fragrance called "Purr"; and will appear in the upcoming 2011 film The Smurfs. Perry had a long relationship with Travie McCoy; she married Russell Brand on October 23, 2010

She achieved wide fame for her role as Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana on the Disney Channel sitcom Hannah Montana. Cyrus recorded music for the soundtracks, Hannah Montana 2006 and Hannah Montana 2/Meet Miley Cyrus 2007, released by Walt Disney Records. With the success of the Hannah Montana franchise she established herself as a teen idol. In 2007, Cyrus signed to Hollywood Records to pursue a solo career. The music video and lyrics of the album's lead single, "Can't Be Tamed", portrays a more sexualized image for the entertainer. Elizabeth Olsen's career began at the age of four when she acted in her sisters' first movie, Our First Video. She guest starred in Mary-Kate and Ashley's direct-to-video series titled The Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley. She cameoed in How the West Was Fun, another of her sisters' productions.
Following in the footsteps of Mary-Kate and Ashley, Olsen starred in three movies, to be released in 2011 and 2012. She first acted in a movie titled Peace, Love, and Misunderstanding, in which she played the role of Zoe. She played the leading role in Martha Marcy May Marlene 2011 as a woman who comes out of a cult and tries to live a normal life with her sister and brother-in-law. The movie is labeled as an "indie" drama. She has also acted in The Silent House, in which she played the role of Sarah. This film is in post-production. Olsen also appeared in the music video "The Queen" by Carlotta She is now in the middle of filming the movie Red Lights which is due to be released in 2012 She is also going to be starring in Liberal Arts which is also going to be released in 2012. Perri grew up in Bensalem, Pennsylvania a suburb of Philadelphia with her older brother, Nick Perri, who formerly played guitar with Shinedown, Silvertide, Perry Farrell and Matt SorumShe attended Archbishop Ryan High School, and graduated in the class of 2004She taught herself how to play guitar as a 16-year-old by watching a videotape of Shannon Hoon from the group Blind Melon performing on VH1.
